When it comes to skincare I really am a creature of comfort. I’ve followed the same routine for as long as I can remember but my skin has changed and my old faithful routine has started to cause redness in my skin that is bordering on irritation. It was time to change things up and Amphora Aromatics contacted me at the same time asking if I wanted to try their new range of natural skincare, AA Skincare. It seemed too good an opportunity to pass up.
The AA Skincare range takes Amphora Aromatics knowledge of aromatherapy and natural skincare and combines it with essential oils as well as natural ingredients to create a range of effective products that won’t break the bank.
The packaging is beautifully plain yet fit for purpose and details exactly what results you should expect from the product. Unfortunately it isn’t very travel friendly – I took the cleansing face gel and deep cleansing oil on a weekend break and the lids have both cracked meaning they don’t stay on now. It’s a little annoying but it doesn’t take away from the product itself.
One product that has been a wonder for my skin is the Rosemary and Olive Deep Cleansing Oil which retails at £7.94. Rosemary essential oil has been blended in olive oil which has made such a difference to the redness I had been experiencing when cleansing. The natural antiseptic in the rosemary has a great soothing quality whilst the vitamins in the olive oil makes it really nourishing. I expected these natural ingredients to make for a pretty poor cleansing experience but this really does lift off every speck of makeup including waterproof mascara, I was genuinely shocked!
I’ve been double cleansing with the second cleanser which is the Lavender and Tea Tree Cleansing Face Gel which retails at £5.94. Tea tree is well known for being an excellent natural antiseptic and can be found in most spot clearing formulas. Here it is combined with lavender which helps to protect and restore the skin too. It works into a lovely thick and creamy lather and cleanses the skin beautifully once the Cleansing Oil has removed my makeup.
The Seaweed and Aloe Refreshing Eye Gel retails at £6.96 which is an incredible price for this multi purpose product. I’ve been using it as an eye gel after cleansing in the morning as the cucumber really helps to soothe tired eyes in the morning. It also contains eyebright and cornflower to hydrate the delicate eye area. Not just a great eye gel, you can use this on a cotton pad to remove eye makeup before bed or it also makes a great skin soother for sun exhausted skin, thanks to the aloe.
The Neroli and Aloe Moisturing Face Cream is also a bargain at £7.98 for 50ml. I struggled with application as a full pump was too much for my face so I use 3/4 of a pump to adequately cover my face and neck. As you can see in the swatch above it is a thick cream and does take some working into the skin but I think this is a definite benefit to get the product well worked into the skin. Neroli has the most beautiful scent that is slightly sweet but not overly so which makes this good for the guys too. The aloe once again soothes my skin and the addition of lavender helps to further bring down any redness.
I’m totally sold by these products, and that rarely happens. Considering I’ve used the same skincare routine for so long and I’m now totally hooked on this is a real asset to the range and the price certainly helps. I can’t wait to try the rest of the range and I’ve got a lovely candle to tell you about soon so keep your eyes out for that.
