How many times have you been desperate for a beauty treatment, not been able to get into your regular salon and resorted to booking into a random place only for the treatment to go wrong or not as good as you were expecting? I’ve done it more times than I care to remember. Those times when I feel a bit under the weather and a spa day is just what I need to feel myself again, the last minute holiday where a gel manicure is a must to see me through with unchipped nails, the event which calls for perfect hair and my own curling skills just won’t do. I’ve been fortunate to find some cracking little places during these last minute emergencies but have also been burnt (quite literally!) by others who I would now avoid massively. Well Treatwell are in town to make your life and beauty requirements a hell of a lot easier.
You may have heard of Treatwell before but under a different guise, they have recently changed their name from Wahanda but are very much still the same company offering the same service. That service makes the whole process of booking a beauty treatment a damn sight easier. All you need to do is type in your location and what service you are looking for. The system will then show you a list of nearby salons offering the service including the price, so you can book and pay online. The site gives you ratings that have been left by previous customers, just like Trip Advisor, so you can make a more informed decision prior to parting with your hard earned cash.
I was lucky enough to go along to meet the people behind Treatwell a few weeks ago and was treated to talks from both Armand Beasley and Liz Hambleton on the perfect brows, how to contour and highlight, amongst other things. You haven’t missed out though as the Treatwell site also has a section called ‘The Treatment Files’ where you can catch up with the latest beauty gossip with hints and tips on how to look fabulous.
The event we went to was held at Red Angel Hair Salon on King Street who were amazing and gave me a wash and blow before the event, for which I will be forever grateful. It is incredibly difficult trying to wash and dry your hair with one hand!
They offer this service through Treatwell and also their incredible Style Station where they can give you the perfect up do in just 9 minutes. Above is the lovely Charlie having a beautiful rope plait done. I’m forever turning up at events and parties with the same hairstyle. With this service I can spend very little yet still turn up looking glamorous!
Anyway, back to Treatwell, I think it is the most innovative service I’ve seen for booking beauty treatments and their mobile app is also really easy to use. Let me know what you think.
