Beauty – Ethical Brushing With F.E.T.E Bamboo Toothbrushes

Something I think very little about when purchasing is my toothbrush. I know I like a small head with soft bristles but other than that, I always pick one up in a hurry and usually as part of my weekly shop at the supermarket. I had never really thought about their construction before but did you know more than 50 million toothbrushes end up in landfill in America alone? That isn’t even taking into consideration the rest of the world. F.E.T.E (from earth to earth) want to reduce this wastage and help to protect our environment, enter the bamboo toothbrush.

The f.e.t.e. toothbrushes are 100% biodegradable and are made of bamboo which is naturally anti-microbial, anti-fungal and antibacterial.

The toothbrushes have soft bristles, which is always my go-to choice for a toothbrush but these are slightly firmer than others I have used. The head is a medium size which feels nice when brushing and the soft wooden handle feels really comfortable to hold. I love that I am not bashing my teeth with a plastic head and this feels so much more natural to me.

I thought with the brush being made of bamboo, constantly getting wet and drying naturally would cause some sort of discolouration or weird mould effect but that certainly hasn’t happened and I am really enjoying using it. My teeth feel cleaner and the bristles are much kinder to my gums than others I have used.

All the f.e.t.e. brushes available have the same colour handle but you can choose different tip and brush colours so you know who’s is who’s in the bathroom. You can buy them individually for £5 each or in a pack of four for £15. I will definitely be ordering the pink and purple versions when this one wears out, they are so cute!
