You may have noticed that I stopped subscribing to beauty boxes a while ago. I got increasingly frustrated with perfume samples, teeny samples that I could have picked up myself by going into various beauty counters and getting the same things after a few months of subscribing whilst other people I saw across social media were getting some amazing things.
Things have evolved and there are more beauty boxes out there than ever, and there was one that caught my eye. All the reviews I saw were full sized products, top end brands and just £18.99 plus delivery. It is slightly dearer than some out there but the promise of full sized products had me hooked in. Let me introduce you to the Look Incredible Beauty Box.
Now I haven’t taken this review lightly, this is my third month of subscribing to the Look Incredible beauty box as I wanted to make sure they were consistently good value for money before sharing with you. I subscribe to the standard box but there is also a deluxe version for £35 which also includes full sized products. I loved Miss Makeup Magpie’s review of them but the monthly price of this one is just slightly out of my budget.
The boxes don’t have a theme as such which I absolutely love as I was forever being annoyed that boxes I subscribed to claimed a theme that just didn’t follow through all the products. The Look Incredible beauty box comes in a sturdy black cardboard box with a magnetic closure and ribbon. The shredded black paper inside keeps things packed well and I have had no breakages to date, another bonus.

Ciate Feathered Manicure Set – £19.99
This Ciate set contains everything you need to create pretty feather nails. A mini nail varnish, full sized top coat, nail scissors, a selection of coloured feathers and some blocks to help make your manicure look perfect. I think this is an old version of the set as the ones currently available online look slightly different but it is still a different way to decorate those ring fingers this season.
Bare Minerals Ready Blush in The Close Call – £22
I haven’t tried that many Bare Minerals products but the ones I have tried I have been really impressed with. This blush is no exception. The packaging is sleek and understated with a soft matte finish. Inside you will find a large mirror and a little blush brush, perfect for touching up on the go although I prefer using a larger fluffier brush when applying of a morning.
The blush itself is soft, velvety and smooth with high pigmentation that builds beautifully and lasts all day. The Close Call is a rosy brown with warm undertones and a matte finish. It is great for contouring and I have been using a swipe over my bronzer to make it pop. As with the Ciate set I can’t find this shade online so it looks like it has been discontinued which is a real shame.
Stila Colour Balm Lipstick in Avery – £16
I always love seeing Stila products in beauty boxes as it isn’t a brand that I would think to buy normally. When removing the lid there is an overwhelming scent of peppermint and this is also evident when applying the product, you get that light tingle that you know is helping to plump the lips that little bit for a fuller look.
From the name I was expecting this to be more of a balm with a sheer colour than a fully pigmented lipstick but the latter was actually the case. The formula is creamy with a nice gloss, highly pigmented and slightly drying on the lips so I have to make sure my lips are primed beforehand. The colour is described as a soft peachy coral which is about right although I think it is lighter and brighter than that in some ways. It lasts ages though so it is perfect for work.
Nars Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil in Mexican Rose – £20
My favourite product in the box by far is the Nars Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil. I love Nars and have tried loads of their products but never any of their lip products. This lip pencil is more of a gloss stick with super high pigmentation, a high gloss shine and a cracking stained finish that lasts all day. The colour I received was Mexican Rose which is probably a really good explanation for the colour which has a red tinge with pink undertones. It glides onto the lips beautifully and the nib is narrow enough for precision when applying yet fat enough to cover the lips without needing to go back over time and time again. I love it and am definitely going to add more of these to my collection. They are slim line so perfect for popping into a makeup bag when travelling.
The Body Shop White Musk Soft Satin Body Polish – £15
The most disappointing item in the box this month was this body polish from The Body Shop. Also discontinued, the white musk scent is something that reminds me of being a teenager as it was one of the body sprays I used on a daily basis! The scent in the body polish is subtle enough to layer with my fragrance without overpowering and the texture is on the softer side of the scrub world whilst still exfoliating and moisturising as I would expect.
So there you have it, the best beauty box I have tried in a long time and I can’t wait to share next months with you.
