Beauty – Nanshy Masterful Collection Makeup Brushes

I have never understood the need for excessive makeup brush collections. I have always believed quality of quantity and that meant a small yet perfectly formed selection from MAC, Benefit and Laura Mercier saw me through every day with regular washes. Then I was introduced to the Zoeva rose gold collection at Christmas (thanks Mum!) and then my favourite Anoushka reviewed a large collection of Nanshy brushes that I just had to own.

Nanshy are 100% cruelty free, not tested on animals and PETA approved. The synthetic bristles mean they don’t need to be dyed so they are less likely to irritate the skin. They are assembled by hand yet represent ridiculously good value.

I picked up the Masterful Collection in pearlescent white which includes twelve brushes for just £49.95, I have paid that for two brushes alone in the past! This also includes free shipping and a free gift, for me, an angled eye liner brush which arrived in its own white pouch. The Masterful Collection arrived in a sturdy plastic box wrapped in tissue with a Nanshy sticker, the way a gift of double the price would arrive, it is a lovely touch.

Each brush has a pearlescent white handle which is chunky in style, similar to my Zoeva brushes, with the recommended ‘use’ etched on the side. Despite my love for makeup I am still pretty rubbish with the whole smokey eye and contour look so this is really handy for me! They are fairly light and my only criticism is that I would have liked a slightly weightier brush but for the price and quality, I am not going to whinge that much.

The bristles are soft and they pick up product beautifully, distributing it exactly where you touch the brush to your face with very little fallout. In fact, I have noticed my smokey eye looks much better when using these brushes as I can dab the product exactly where I want it, then blend out. These brushes do all the work for me with little effort and for that I am most thankful.

I was hesitant of buying a white handled brush with the worry that they would get dirty easily but they wash a dream, the product comes away with ease leaving brushes looking just like new.

I adore them and can’t wait to add to my collection, I swear you can’t live without them if you are trying to master the perfect contour, and who doesn’t want chiselled looking cheekbones?
