I was asked to review this product on behalf of fellow blogger who has decided she would rather be road tripping her arse around France.
So I am Primal Bear and blog over at primalbear.co.uk
I have never been a fan of chicken sausages as I always felt the texture and flavour wasn’t there. I am what you might consider a stereotypical man. I love my sausages meaty and most brands of chicken sausages seem to be lacking this. I was even more sceptical when I read the words ‘gluten free’ and ‘low fat’ as sausages should be meaty, calorific and protein dense to the point you get the meat sweats.
So lets start with the appearance. The branding is clean and straight to the point, no bull shit here. The sausages are a little skinny but look nice, so lets crack theses bad boys in a frying pan to brown while I prep my meal.
I don’t do measures and crap. I like what I like and think you should too, use as much or as little of the ingredients as you like.
I add sweet potatoes and carrots with a chicken stock. Simple and healthy. As it cooks the sausages are giving off a nice smell making me start to think these bad boys might actually taste a bit of alright.
I put them all in a dish and covered in tinfoil then chuck it in the oven on a low heat for around a hour.
The smell coming off this dish was amazing my mouth was watering and I was actually getting excited.
I plated this up with good old fashioned beetroot and I took for my first bite. I was like ok I admit it there is actually a sausage that can taste good and be made from chicken.
overall I would say the sausages were good but could do with more meat in them although the flavours were spot on.
I would have no qualms in recommending this to my friends and clients as a healthy and gluten free alternative.
The sausages were provided to Phat Cupcake for review purposes.
