Room 101 Tag

The lovely Charlie tagged me in her Room 101 post and challenged me to name all the things I’d like to put in there, never to return. Now I’ve been in a grump all day so I warn you, this may be a long list. It has also been heavily edited!

Mushrooms

mushroom

I like most foods, I’ll certainly try anything once. But mushrooms? They are grey, slimy and a fungi. Why would you put one in your mouth, seriously? Oh, and if I ask for something without them, I will know if you have just picked them out. That horrid taste permeates the whole dish. Please don’t do it. If you can’t take it out, tell me so!

Cliff Richard

cliff

When I lived at home my Dad and I had a list of people we really hated. Yes sad but true. Most of his list contained footballers or ex Liverpool footballers to be exact. Mine was a random mish mash of people which regularly changed. One person who featured every time was Cliff Richard. This guy just oozes cheese, urgh. I hate his music, the way he was a cheesy grin no matter what and the way he has been around FOREVER.

Middle lane drivers

driving

I could probably write a whole Room 101 post about my driving pet peeves. I’m a very impatient driver and hate people who aren’t courteous in their cars. I hate it when people drive dead on the speed limit, I hate it when people slam their brakes on for no reason, I hate people who don’t indicate. More than any of these I hate middle lane drivers. I understand if traffic is bad then you may need to sit in the middle lane to get past the drivers in the inside  lane. This, I am fine with. What I am not fine with is you sitting in the middle lane doing dead on 70mph when there isn’t another car in sight. Why do people do this?! As much as I hate it I know why people do the speed limit, I can also accept that people sometimes forget to indicate. Middle lane hogging is something I simply do not understand. MOVE OVER! If you don’t, there is every chance I’ll drive right up your arse until you move or, more likely, I’ll sit in the inside lane until the very last minute, swerve around you to the outside lane and then cut right infront of you back to the inside lane. I know how grammatically incorrect that last sentence is, that’s how annoyed it makes me!

Old people in the supermarket

supermarket

I know old people need to shop just as much as young people. And this 101 entry by no means relates to EVERY old person. What really annoys me is when older people go food shopping at weekend. The ones who leave their trolley in the middle of the aisle, the ones who stop dead in the middle to have a chat with their neighbour. The ones who walk REALLY slow in the middle of the aisle, those old people. If you don’t work, you have the luxury of shopping during week days when the supermarket is lovely and quiet. WHY choose to go at the weekend when full time workers, like me, have already had a stressful week without you adding to it. I’d much rather you give me a list and let me shop for you. That’s exactly what my Gran does.

People who don’t listen

not listening

Ever had that conversation with someone where you are halfway through speaking and they get that ‘I’m thinking about something else or my response’ glazed look on their face? That is what I am talking about. In fact, if you have done this to me before, there is every chance I have just stopped talking at this point. What’s the point in me wasting my breath if you’re not listening?

Telling me how to feel

So you make me feel like crap and ask why… I answer ‘when you did that you made me feel worthless, frustrated, upset, angry, etc’. Answering ‘no I didn’t’, is not valid. You DID make me feel that way, it may not have been your intention but you did. Please don’t tell me how I feel, only I know the answer to that question.

Wow fairly tame that list… but controversial I’m guessing! I tag:

I found this tag very therapeutic… think I’ll do one monthly… 😉

Can’t abide mushrooms either. Maybe old people go shopping at weekends because it’s busier and they can have a wee chat. Just saying lol

Ha this is very possible! As long as they do it in a quiet corner near the mushrooms I’m happy 😉 x
