As many of you will know I started this blog to chart my weight loss journey. Things changed, my direction changed. I’m really pleased with where Phat Cupcake is right now but my body certainly isn’t. As Phat Cupcake hit 1 year old I realised that my original goal and plan for the blog had been completely lost. I am the same weight and size I was when I started Phat Cupcake over 12 months ago! Whilst I want to keep the new stuff on the blog I have decided to introduce a weekly weight loss/health post, not just to keep me on track, but to help anyone else out there who is desperately trying to live a healthier lifestyle. I plan to share what I have done that week to achieve my goals including any slips (I’d be lying if I said they never happen) and what my weight loss is for that week.
A while ago Jess from OhSoGawjess told me she had written a short booklet about diet and fitness so I jumped at the chance to give it a read to see if she could motivate me back into my old healthy ways.
As I am sure you can tell by the title this is a no crap type of booklet. Jessica has strong opinions on the subject matter, some I don’t agree with, but they are her opinions and she is entitled to them. She takes you through her diet and health journey before discussing the benefits of exercise as well as the different ‘diet’ types that are out there. This stuff isn’t rocket science, you will not find out how to lose a stone in a month by reading this booklet and you know what? Good! Weight loss and health should be about you and what is right for your body. It isn’t about shocking your body into losing huge amounts of weight in a short period of time, we all know this isn’t a sustainable way of being healthier.
As some of you will know I follow the Weight Watchers plan online… it works for me when I follow it properly and that’s a big point I feel… it works for me. You might not agree with following a system like this or Slimming World for example and Jess talks about the negatives of other diet plans in this booklet. She is right in what she says, I personally feel that people should do whatever they feel most comfortable or motivated doing. If that means paying £6 a week to stand on a set of scales then so be it.
So what did I get from this booklet? It was a good refresher for me. I’ve done healthy/diet/fitness type stuff on and off for most of my adult life so I know what I need to do to lose weight and be healthier. This booklet just reintroduced that for me and can do the same for you too.
You can buy the booklet for a bargain price of 77p (yes you read that right, less than £1!) for your Kindle or iPhone HERE. Surely it is worth investing to get you back on your fitness/healthy living goal track?
