Since I bought my house 18 months ago I have done very little to it. There are many reasons that I won’t go into but I have decided that with the arrival of Spring, it is time to spruce up my house and put my own stamp on it.
I shared some of the decorative items I have used in my living before following the arrival of my beautiful new sofa but it is time to tackle the walls and that bright red wall that I have managed to live with for so long.
To be honest it isn’t all bad and when I had a white sofa with American flag themed throws it kind of worked, but with the grey sofa and accessories it just looks massively out of place. I was going to paint it a different colour but I really wanted to introduce a bit of pattern to the room and with it being the biggest wall I think a feature wall would work really well. With that in mind I hit the Inspired Wallpaper website with gusto for the right pattern for me. I love the wings that fly high on the wall so I needed something that would compliment them but also go with my new grey and copper theme. I really like the Inspired Wallpaper website as it groups their stock into colour schemes or room ideas so it is easy to navigate for the right paper for you, without having to scroll through hundreds at a time.
They make sure that the wallpaper you order is from the same batch and can even give you an estimate on how many rolls you will need to complete your project by submitting a few measurements. I knew a light green colour would work really well in the room and I didn’t want anything too bold that would make the room feel smaller. I chose the Ash Branch wallpaper in Light Moss by Crown which is a really good price at £12.99 a roll. It is a fairly traditional design that isn’t too bright but should add just the freshness I want to the room. My angel wings will also look really cute on top of it so I can start my photograph feature wall opposite. I have so many prints that I need to get framed and I can’t wait to source copper frames to match my pretty lamp.
I can’t wait to show you all what it looks like when it is finished, what else do you think I need to add?
Oh, I must add, how cute is my Macbook Skin in the first image? I will write about it and the other bits I picked up from Coconut Lane in another post but if you want 20% your own you just need to use code PHATCUPCAKE20 at the checkout.
