Well England, the cold weather has well and truly hit us with defrosting the car being a daily morning chore that I detest more each time. My skin is with me in my hatred of the cold weather and gets even more sensitive as the temperature plummets. Luckily for me the skincare industry is progressing and I have found the perfect products to nourish my skin whilst also providing anti-ageing properties.
L’Or Des Pharaons Face and Body Mist – £40
This face and body mist is on the pricey side but it has quickly found its way into my daily routine. The purified water contains monatomic, diatomic and nano clusters of pure gold, platinum and zinc, all with individual properties to help the skin fight the signs of ageing. It is said that Cleopatra slept in masks of gold to preserve and rejuvenate her skin overnight – if it is good enough for her it is good enough for me! Zinc helps with inflammation whilst platinum is said to tone and firm. The product itself is clear and scent free feeling like regular water when it is first spritzed on the skin. I use this morning and night before my moisturiser and have found that it helps my moisturiser to sink into the skin.
I can honestly say my skin has never been clever or smoother. It feels plump and moisturised even though the rest of my skincare routine is no different. It has really helped with the redness that comes with the cold weather and my frown lines are looking much softer.
Argan oil has been a staple in my skincare routine for as long as I can remember but that has been replaced with this new find – introducing cacay oil. The cold pressed oil is said to have 50% more vitamin E and twice the amount of linoleic acid than argan oil to increase hydration, renew smoothness and reduce wrinkles. It is thinner in consistency than argan oil with a lovely nutty aroma and a golden colour. It sinks into the skin beautifully leaving no residue and my skin literally drinks it up. What is left is a smoother and glowing complexion that is less sensitive and doesn’t have that horrid burning feeling when outside in the cold.
I have written about Hylamide SubQ Eyes serum before and am still in love with it. My dark circles have been reduced with regular usage and every time I apply it I can almost feel under eye area tighten. The rehydration properties are amazing and it is really helping my fragile eye area stay moisturised and soft in this cold climate.
Sephora Pomegranate Face Mask- $6
Long before sheet face masks were heard of in the UK, Sephora created an impressive collection to tackle any skin complaint you may have. The pomegranate version is designed to awaken, energise and protect the skin with anti-oxidant rich pomegranate extract. I find the sheet fits the contours of my face perfectly providing an instantly cooling and soothing face mask that, once removed, makes my skin plumped up and hydrated. It is the protecting qualities of this mask that make it perfect for the winter and it helps to protect my skin against the elements perfectly. Luckily we have some sheet masks now available in the UK and Sephora now ships to us so it is worth investing in a selection of these and seeing which works best for you.
I have a slight addition to Korean beauty and skincare products at the moment which saw my Mum spending a big chunk of her recent trip to South Korea scouring the shops for good deals. We regularly have items popping up in our local TK Maxx and I found this Tony Moly lip balm in Venice’s Sephora on a recent holiday. The packaging looks just like a peach, or a boob depending on how you look at it! Peach extracts protect against the elements with tea tree and witch hazel hydrate as well as soothe irritation. The second you open this little pot of goodness the scent of peach is almost intoxicating, I absolutely love it and find it the perfect lip saviour when in previous years they have ended up sore and cracked. You can buy it from Cult Beauty and it is expensive at £8 but I will definitely be buying another when this one runs out.
Luckily my skin is now ready for the cold snap even if the rest of my body and mind is not. If you have any top tips or products please make sure you share in the comments so I can try them.

I personally have the Toly Moly Peach hand cream and the Tony Moly apple hand cream, in containers that look like the fruit. Love them both!
