Top Paleo Picks

A while ago you would have heard me papping on about paleo and how it was my diet of choice. Life being life, things have been difficult and I have totally fallen off the healthy eating bandwagon. I am disgusted with myself but it is time to pick myself up, dust myself off and get back to it. I am pretty sure I am not the only person who has done this so I thought I would share some of the things that are helping me back to my paleo lifestyle.

I have followed Michelle’s food blog for as long as I can remember. She is my ultimate blog inspiration in terms of images and content, I can only dream to have my blog looking anywhere near as shiny as hers. Whilst I love to read a blog online I actually love a real book, I love the feel and smell of a book, the way the spine creaks when first opened and the shiny smoothness of the pages. My Mum bought me Michelle’s book for Christmas last year and I have been hooked ever since. Her sriracha and mayonnaise recipes are amazing.

Primal Pantry Protein Bars – £1.99

I have written about The Primal Pantry’s paleo bars before (you can read here if you missed it) and I am still hooked. They have two new flavours which launched last month – Mixed Berries and Cocoa Orange. The new bars have a minimum of 10 grams of protein per bar and less than 1 gram of fat per bar so they are one of the cleanest options if you are in need of a protein hit in your diet. I find them great as a post workout snack and they don’t have to ruin my dinner. They are tasty too with no artificial additives, flavourings or colours. Give them a go if you need a healthy treat on the go.

Paleo – 12 Weeks To Change Your Life by Rebecca Field  £34.99

A new cookbook to my collection is Paleo – 12 Weeks To Change Your Life by Rebecca Field. It is on the pricey side I know but it is great if you are new to paleo or trying to get back into it like me. It explains the way of eating and what impact it has on your body, it gives you simple yet delicious recipes and meal plans so there really is no excuse. I love that there isn’t a focus on using this way of life as a weight loss tool and more around general health and wellness.

There are my top three things for getting back into or starting a paleo lifestyle. Now to kick my butt into the gym!
